Paul has thanked constituents for their hard work and support with his campaign to stop the storage of 2500 tonnes of ammonium nitrate at Chatham Docks.

Medway Council have now turned down an application from the Arcelor Mittal company to store up to 2500 tonnes of the chemical at Chatham Docks.

Although the company is still legally entitled to store 1000 tonnes of the chemical at the site, Paul has written to Ministers to raise questions about the logic of allowing this chemical to be stored near to residential areas and schools.

Speaking today, Paul said:

I am delighted that the Council have made this announcement and it's all down to the hard work that my constituents have put in, so congratulations and thank you for supporting me with this campaign. It has made a massive difference.”
