Speaking about an increasing frenzy over the Prime Minister's future, Paul told local newspaper 'Your Medway': "I am 100 per cent behind Gordon.

"We are obviously going through a difficult situation – all of us are facing a difficult time in terms of fuel and prices increases. We all recognise that, we are all feeling that pinch.

"What is important is that we keep our head and get on with the job that we need to do."
